Surf Alerts That Go Straight into Google Calendar
A notification tells you the surf is good. A calendar block makes sure you go.
Most surf alert apps send a push notification and leave the rest to you. You still have to check your calendar, find the time and hope nobody books it. SurfSlot connects to Google Calendar so a matching forecast becomes an event in your day, with the beach, time and conditions included.
At a glance
- Connect Google Calendar once in Settings
- Matching sessions become calendar events
- Ask-first: accept from your email or text
- Auto-block: added without asking
- Overlapping meetings flagged, not declined
- Skip or remove a session from your dashboard
From forecast to event
Every few hours SurfSlot checks the marine and weather forecast for the pin on each of your active beaches. It looks for windows where the wave height, wind speed, wind direction and tide phase all match your rules, inside the hours you've said you can surf, and at least as long as your shortest session setting.
When it finds one, what happens next depends on your choice:
- Ask first: you get an email or text describing the session. Accept and it's added to Google Calendar. Skip and it's dismissed.
- Auto-block: the event goes straight into Google Calendar and you're told it's there.
Clashes are your call
If a meeting already overlaps the window, SurfSlot still adds the surf block and flags the clash in the alert. It never declines invitations, moves meetings or messages anyone for you. You see both side by side and decide.
Connecting Google Calendar
Open Settings in your surf dashboard and press Connect Google Calendar. Google will ask you to allow SurfSlot to add events. You can disconnect at any time from the same screen, and existing blocks stay in your calendar as normal events you can edit or delete.
SurfSlot is in early access, so Google may show a notice that the app hasn't been verified yet. That's Google's standard message for newer apps, not a security warning about your account.
Frequently asked
I keep missing the good surf because of work. How does this help?
SurfSlot watches the forecast for your beaches against your own wave, wind and tide rules, inside the hours you've said you can surf. When it lines up, the session goes into your Google Calendar before meetings can take the slot, or you get an email or text asking first.
I'm a freelancer or business owner. Is this for me?
Yes. It's a personal dashboard for people who work and surf: freelancers, remote workers and business owners. It is not for surf schools; schools use the separate SurfSlot booking platform.
Which calendars does it work with?
Google Calendar today. You connect it once in Settings and SurfSlot adds surf sessions as events in your calendar.
What happens if I already have a meeting at that time?
The surf block is still added, and the alert tells you about the clash so you can decide whether to move the meeting or skip the session. SurfSlot never declines or moves your meetings.
Does it book anything for me without asking?
Only if you choose auto-block. In ask-first mode you get an email or text with the session and decide whether to add it. In both modes you can skip or remove a block from your dashboard.
Where does the forecast come from?
SurfSlot uses Open-Meteo marine and weather forecasts for the exact pin you drop on each beach, and checks them every few hours.
Is this for surf schools?
No. This is a personal dashboard for individual surfers. Surf schools use the separate SurfSlot booking platform.
