SurfSlot ("the Platform", "we", "us") is a technology platform that provides operational management tools for surf schools and water sports businesses ("Schools", "you"). SurfSlot is not a surf school operator, instructor, booking agent, or payment processor. We provide software tools only.
SurfSlot provides Schools with tools for managing bookings, lesson scheduling, instructor coordination, condition monitoring, customer communications, and payment processing integration. All operational decisions remain solely the responsibility of the School.
SurfSlot charges a platform service fee of 10% on each completed booking processed through the platform. This fee is added on top of the School's advertised price and charged to the end customer at checkout. Schools keep 100% of their listed price.
The 10% platform service fee is inclusive of IVA (VAT) at 23%. SurfSlot will issue a monthly invoice to the School detailing all bookings processed, the corresponding commission amounts, and the IVA breakdown. Invoices are issued at the beginning of each calendar month for the preceding month's bookings.
Payment of invoices is due within 15 days of issue. Non-payment or late payment may result in account suspension and/or interest charges at the maximum rate permitted by applicable law.
The platform service fee is automatically collected and settled through Stripe Connect at the point of each booking via the application fee mechanism. The monthly invoice serves as the formal VAT/IVA document for accounting and tax purposes.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
By using SurfSlot, the School acknowledges and agrees that:
SurfSlot allows Schools to manually add participants to lessons via the dashboard for operational flexibility (e.g. walk-ins, phone bookings). However, manually entered participants must not exceed 30% of the School's total bookings over any rolling 30-day period.
Manual entries bypass the platform's automated commission collection. If a School's manual entry ratio exceeds the 30% threshold, SurfSlot reserves the right to take one or both of the following actions:
SurfSlot monitors the ratio of manual entries to online bookings automatically. Schools will receive a warning notification when manual entries approach the 30% threshold. Continued excessive manual entry after receiving a warning will be treated as a violation of these terms.
SurfSlot processes data on behalf of Schools. Each School remains the data controller for their customer information. Schools are responsible for compliance with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR where applicable). SurfSlot will process data only as necessary to provide the platform services.
SurfSlot may use data generated through your use of the platform to produce aggregated, anonymised reporting on the surf-lesson sector — for example activity volumes by region, seasonality, participation trends, and the impact of ocean conditions on lesson delivery. Such reporting may be shared with third parties including national surfing federations, tourism bodies, and industry partners.
This reporting will never identify your school, and will never include your pricing, your revenue, your customer data, or any figures attributable to an individual business. Data is only included where a reporting group contains at least five schools, so that no individual school can be identified. Your customers' personal data is never shared with third parties for this purpose.
SurfSlot reserves the right to suspend or terminate any School's account at its sole discretion, including but not limited to cases of:
Schools may request account deletion at any time by contacting support.
The School agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SurfSlot, its founders, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or relating to the School's use of the platform or the School's business operations.
SurfSlot may update these terms at any time. Schools will be notified of material changes via email. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the applicable jurisdiction of the School's country of registration.
